arjen kuvat / everyday life is a research project financed by Kone Foundation and led by the dept. of Sociology in University of Eastern Finland. Combining social sciences, journalism and photographic art, the project maps inequality in Finland.
Ten photographers from the Photographic Artists’ Association participated in the project throughout 2016. My personal contribution to the project consists of 30 photographs, which are divided in three themes revealing something about my social position: my own thoughts; my daughter's life; my friends. Each photograph comes with a short written narrative.
A workshop on social documentary with regular meetings during the project was run by the professional and supporting duo Liisa Söderlund and Ida Pimenoff.
An exhibition and a book are in process. Meanwhile, more information on the project here.
